Over The Line Tournament

World Championship Over-the-Line Tournament- Sat, Jul 10 + Sun, Jul 11
This is San Diego’s original boisterous beach sport — a fast-paced game of softball on the sand. Expect crowds of board short and bikini-clad players and spectators gathering to enjoy the games, food, beer and music.

Grand Opening: Cosmopolitan Hotel & Restaurant – Sat, Jul 10
Witness the grand opening of the only hotel in Old Town State Historic Park, the 10-room boutique Cosmopolitan Hotel & Restaurant. The FREE public festival includes strolling actors, live music, stagecoach rides, horse saddling, tacking lessons, circus performers, and an open-air, nighttime 19th-century circus with fire-breathing, juggling, acrobatics and sword swallowing. Festivities begin at 1pm. 

La Jolla Concerts by the Sea - Sun, Jul 11
Soak in the tunes and ocean views during the popular La Jolla Concerts by the Sea. Held each Sunday until September 5, these summertime concerts are held at Scripps Park overlooking stunning La Jolla Cove and include raffle prizes for local activities and restaurants.

Counter Culture – Sat, July 10

Somali American Cultural Fest – Sat, Jul 10
Celebrate the 50th year anniversary of Somali independence with poetry, music, dance, fashion show, children’s activities, and food. 3pm at the Market Creek Plaza.

California State Games – Fri, Jul 9 – Sun, Jul 11
Get an Olympic experience during the California State Games, where prestigious and sporting competitions are happening all throughout San Diego County. Sporting matches include basketball, swimming, soccer, skateboarding, softball, wrestling, handball, weightlifting, and archery. Kick off this three-day event with the Opening Ceremonies and fireworks show at Qualcomm Stadium on Friday night. 

Bastille Day/House of France – Sun, Jul 11
Observe France’s Bastille Day when the House of France hosts the Sunday lawn program with native music, dance, costumes and food at the International Cottages.

Ray at Night – Sat, Jul 10
