Film aficionados and culture vultures will be packing the theatres at Mission Valley UltraStar Cinemas, home to the 12th Annual San Diego Asian Film Festival. Running October 20-28, 2011, the festival will showcase more than 160 films from 20 countries including Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, India, Ireland, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Mexico, North Korea, Pakistan,  Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, and the U.S.

I try and catch at least two films a year at the festival and am always astounded by the ultra creative themes and storylines you won’t find in Hollywood’s mainstream flicks.

Check out the festival Diego On a Dime-style with their FREE FILMS Series. Every weekday program at 4pm is FREE, including  City of Sadness (October 25), most recently considered the BEST Film in Chinese Cinema and the San Diego Youth Documentary Program, REEL VOICES.

Make sure to check out the festival’s full schedule for more info.

Want to feed your passion for cinema? I’m giving away 4 pairs of of festival tickets!

Simply just comment below with which 2 movies in the film schedule you are most interested in seeing. I’ll select two names at random on Wednesday, October 19. Winners will  pick up their tickets at the Will Call booth at the movie theatres.
